1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by changing
5Section 31-5 as follows:
 
6    (720 ILCS 5/31-5)  (from Ch. 38, par. 31-5)
7    Sec. 31-5. Concealing or aiding a fugitive.
8    (a) Every person not standing in the relation of husband,
9wife, parent, child, brother or sister to the offender, who,
10with intent to prevent the apprehension of the offender,
11conceals his knowledge that an offense has been committed or
12harbors, aids or conceals the offender, commits a Class 4
13felony.
14    (b) Every person, 18 years of age or older, who, with
15intent to prevent the apprehension of the offender, aids or
16assists the offender, by some volitional act, in fleeing the
17municipality, county, State, country, or other defined
18jurisdiction in which the offender is to be arrested, charged,
19or prosecuted, commits a Class 4 felony.
