SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 605/605-1010 new

Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department to develop and implement a statewide strategic plan to promote agricultural tourism in the State. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 605-1010 as follows:

(20 ILCS 605/605-1010 new)

Sec. 605-1010. Agricultural Tourism. To bolster rural economies in Illinois, the Department shall develop and implement a statewide strategic plan to increase agricultural tourism. The strategic plan shall explore the promotion of agricultural tourism through access to hotel and motel taxes and the use of websites, brochures, and broadcast advertising.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
