1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1315
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1315 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
5 changing Section 11-1408 as follows:

6     (625 ILCS 5/11-1408)  (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-1408)
7     Sec. 11-1408. Riding in towed vehicles ~~house trailers~~. No
8 person or persons shall occupy a~~house~~ trailer, semitrailer,
9 farm wagon, or any other vehicle ~~travel trailer~~ while it is
10 being towed upon a public highway, unless:
11         (1) the occupancy of the towed vehicle is necessary to
12     avoid an imminent threat to a person's safety due to
13     extreme weather conditions or another emergency situation;
14         (2) the speed of the vehicle does not exceed 15 miles
15     per hour and the vehicle is used in connection with a
16     parade, farming-related activity, or similar activity; or

1         (3) the speed of the vehicle does not exceed 15 miles
2     per hour and the passenger is over the age of 18.
