1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1506
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1506 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 1. Short title. This Act shall be known and may be
5 cited as the Health Carrier External Review Act.

6     Section 5. Legislative findings and intent. The purpose of
7 this Act is to provide uniform standards for the establishment
8 and maintenance of external review procedures to ensure that
9 covered persons have the opportunity for an independent review
10 of an adverse determination or final adverse determination, as
11 defined in this Act.

12     Section 10. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
13 changing Section 1 as follows:
