| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Odie | 4 | | Marie Conner; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Odie Conner was born September 6, 1923, in | 6 | | Deberry, Texas; her parents were Alec Leary and Narsis Clark; | 7 | | she married Leon Conner on April 24, 1942, in Chicago; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Odie Conner attended church and grade school in | 9 | | Deberry, Texas; she then attended high school in Carthage, | 10 | | Texas after she and her family moved there in 1935; that same | 11 | | year, she was baptized and became a member of the Bethlehem | 12 | | Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Reverend Isaiah Barren; | 13 | | and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Odie Conner was a devoted mother and housewife who | 15 | | was active in church and grade school activities; she was also | 16 | | a Cub Scout den mother and a faithful member of the PTA; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Odie Conner enjoyed fashion shows, where her | 18 | | beauty and taste always made her a winner; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Odie Conner was preceded in death by her parents; | 20 | | her siblings; and her children, Thomas Earl, Ralph Wesley, and |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Odie Conner is survived by her loving husband of | 3 | | 69 years, Leon; her daughters, Joy, Marilyn, and Melody; her | 4 | | sibling, Beater Thomas; her 13 grandchildren; her 15 | 5 | | great-grandchildren; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, | 6 | | and friends; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 8 | | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 9 | | mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Odie | 10 | | Marie Conner; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Odie Conner as an expression of our | 13 | | sympathy.
