AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4795

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4795 on page 1 by replacing lines 17 through 22 with the following:

"(b) Beginning July 1, 2010, the Executive Director of the State Commission shall be appointed by the Governor by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and the Secretary of the State Commission shall be appointed by the Governor; except that the Secretary and Executive Director of the State Commission serving on June 30, 2010 may continue to serve for the remainder of their appointed terms."; and

on page 4, line 17, by inserting after "Act" the following: "if they comply with the training standards as defined by the Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board or the State Police Merit Board"; and

on page 4, by replacing line 15 with the following: "Except for the carrying of firearms, these investigators have"; and

on page 4, line 21, by inserting immediately following "officer" the following: ", except for the carrying of a firearm,"; and

on page 4, by deleting line 25; and

on page 5, by deleting lines 1 through 15.
