AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 853

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 853, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment No.
4 1, on page 3, by replacing lines 17 through 21 with the
5 following:
6 "Motor vehicles registered under the provisions of Section
7 Sections 3-402.1 and 3-405.3 shall be issued multi-year
8 registration plates with a new registration card issued
9 annually upon payment of the appropriate fees. Motor vehicles
10 registered under the provisions of Section 3-405.3 shall be
11 issued mutli-year registration plates with a new multi-year
12 registration card issued pursuant to subsections (j) and (k) of
13 this Section upon payment of the appropriate fees.
14 Apportionable trailers and apportionable"; and
 
15 on page 6, by replacing lines 14 through 20 with the following:
16     "(j) The Secretary of State may enter into an agreement
17 with a rental owner, as defined in Section 3-400 of this Code,

1 who registers a fleet of motor vehicles of the first division
2 pursuant to Section 3-405.3 of this Code to provide for the
3 registration of the rental owner's vehicles on a 2 or 3
4 calendar year basis and the issuance of multi-year registration
5 plates with a new registration card issued up to every 3 years.
6     (k) The Secretary of State may provide mutli-year
7 registration cards for any registered fleet of motor vehicles
8 of the first or second division that are registered pursuant to
9 Section 3-405.3 of this Code. Each motor vehicle of the
10 registered fleet must carry an unique multi-year registration
11 card that displays vehicle identification number of the
12 registered motor vehicle. The Secretary of State shall
13 promulgate rules in order to implement multi-year
14 registrations.".
