AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2487

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2487 as follows:
 
3 on page 1, line 5, after "11E-50,", by inserting "11E-60,"; and
 
4 on page 7, lines 22 and 23, by replacing "the petition is
5 approved by either the regional superintendent of schools or"
6 with "a final decision is issued by the petition is approved by
7 either the regional superintendent of schools or"; and
 
8 on page 14, immediately below line 8, by inserting the
9 following:
 
10     "(105 ILCS 5/11E-60)
11     Sec. 11E-60. Ballots.
12     (a) Separate ballots shall be used for the election in each
13 affected district. If the petition requests the submission of a
14 proposition for the issuance of bonds, then that question shall

1 be submitted to the voters at the referendum on a separate
2 ballot.
3     (b) Ballots for all reorganization propositions submitted
4 under the provisions of this Article must be in substantially
5 the following form:
6         (1) Ballot for high school - unit conversion or unit to
7     dual conversion:
 
8         OFFICIAL BALLOT
 
9         Shall (here identify the districts to be dissolved by
10     name and number) be dissolved and new school districts be
11     established as follows: a new (here specify elementary,
12     high school, or unit) district formed from all of the
13     territory included within (here identify the existing
14     school district by name and number), with the authority to
15     levy taxes for various purposes as follows: (here specify
16     the maximum tax rates for various purposes the new school
17     district is authorized to levy and, if applicable, the
18     specifications related to the Property Tax Extension
19     Limitation Law, in accordance with Section 11E-80 of this
20     Code), each upon all of the taxable property of the school
21     district at the value thereof, as equalized or assessed by
22     the Department of Revenue, and a new (here repeat the

1         The election authority must record the votes "Yes" or
2     "No".
 
3         (2) Ballot for combined school district formation:
 
4         OFFICIAL BALLOT
 
5         Shall a combined (here insert elementary, high, or
6     unit) school district, with the authority to levy taxes at
7     the rate of (here specify the maximum tax rates for various
8     purposes the new unit district is authorized to levy and,
9     if applicable, the specifications related to the Property
10     Tax Extension Limitation Law, in accordance with Section
11     11E-80 of this Code), each upon all of the taxable property
12     of the district at the value thereof, as equalized or
13     assessed by the Department of Revenue, be established?
 
14         The election authority must record the votes "Yes" or
15     "No".
 
16         (3) Ballot for unit district formation (other than a
17     partial elementary unit district formation):

18     with the authority to levy taxes for various purposes as

13     elementary unit district is authorized to levy and, if
14     applicable, the specifications related to the Property Tax
15     Extension Limitation Law, in accordance with Sections
16     11E-80 and 11E-95 of this Code), each upon all of the
17     taxable property of the district at the value thereof, as
18     equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue, be
19     established?
