 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1740

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 1740 by  replacing
 3    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 4        "Section  5.   The  Code of Civil Procedure is amended by
 5    adding Section 7-103.105 as follows:

 6        (735 ILCS 5/7-103.105 new)
 7        Sec.  7-103.105.  Quick-take;   Village   of   Crestwood.
 8    Quick-take  proceedings under Section 7-103 may be used for a
 9    period of 2 years after the effective date of this Section by
10    the Village of Crestwood  for  the  acquisition  of  property
11    within a Tax Increment Financing district within the Village,
12    in  the  area  bounded  by  135th Street on the south, Cicero
13    Avenue on the west, Calumet Sag Road on the north, and Kenton
14    Avenue (i.e., the western property  line  of  St.  Benedict's
15    Cemetery)   on   the   east,  for  the  purpose  of  economic
16    development.  The power granted under this Section  does  not
17    apply  to  the acquisition of any property owned by a unit of
18    local government.

19        Section 99. Effective date.  This Act takes  effect  upon
20    becoming law.".
