 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1044

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 1044 by  replacing
 3    Section 5 with the following:

 4        "Section  5.   The Department of Public Health Powers and
 5    Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code  of  Illinois  is
 6    amended by adding Section 2310-358 as follows:

 7        (20 ILCS 2310/2310-358 new)
 8        Sec.  2310-358.  Grants to the Les Turner ALS Foundation.
 9    Subject to appropriation, the  Department  of  Public  Health
10    shall  make  grants  from  the  Lou  Gehrig's  Disease  (ALS)
11    Research  Fund,  a special fund in the State treasury, to the
12    Les Turner ALS Foundation for research on Amyotrophic Lateral
13    Sclerosis (ALS).".
