 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1461

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 1461  by  replacing
 3    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 4        "Section  5.  The Commercial and Public Building Asbestos
 5    Abatement Act is amended by changing Section 25 as follows:

 6        (225 ILCS 207/25)
 7        Sec.  25.    Consistency   with   federal   law.    Rules
 8    promulgated  issued under this Act, including those governing
 9    the preparation of a list of response action contractors  and
10    the  removal  of response action contractors from the list as
11    provided for in Section 20, shall not  be  inconsistent  with
12    rules  and  regulations  promulgated  by  the  United  States
13    Environmental  Protection  Agency  under the Toxic Substances
14    Control Act, the Clean Air Act, or other  applicable  federal
15    statutes.
