 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1235

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 1235 as follows:
 3    on page 11, lines 29 and 30, by deleting ", the  professional
 4    personnel leadership committee,"; and

 5    on page 18, line 26, after "(i)", by inserting "up to"; and

 6    on  page  19,  line  1,  after  the  period, by inserting the
 7    following:
 8    "The size  of  the  committee  shall  be  determined  by  the
 9    certified classroom teachers and other certificated personnel
10    at the attendance center, including the principal."; and

11    on  page  19,  line  21,  by  replacing  "7 candidates in the
12    election" with "the same number of candidates in the election
13    as the number of members to be elected"; and

14    on page 19, immediately  below  line  24,  by  inserting  the
15    following:
16        "(d) All committee meetings shall be held before or after
17    school  with no loss of instructional time. Committee members
18    shall  receive  no  compensation  for  their  activities   as
19    committee members."; and

20    on page 19, line 25, by replacing "(d)" with "(e)"; and

21    on page 19, line 27, by replacing "or questionnaires" with ",

 1    on noninstructional time,"; and

 2    on  page  19,  by  replacing  lines  32  through  34 with the
 3    following:
 4    "to make  recommendations  to  the  principal  regarding  the
 5    specific  methods and contents of the school's curriculum and
 6    to make other educational"; and

 7    on page 20, line 2, by replacing "shall" with "may"; and

 8    on page 20, line 8, by replacing "shall" with "may".
