 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1126

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 1126 as follows:

 3    on page 8, by inserting between lines 4 and 5 the following:
 4        "(h)  The Prisoner Review Board may not deny a prisoner's
 5    request for parole solely on the basis of the seriousness  of
 6    the  offense  for  which the prisoner has been sentenced to a
 7    term of imprisonment.  The Prisoner Review Board  shall  base
 8    its  decision  on  whether  to grant or deny parole primarily
 9    upon the rehabilitation of the prisoner."; and

10    on page 21, line 27, by changing "5" to "3 5"; and

11    on page 21, line 33, by changing "4" to "3 4".
