 1                     AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 70

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 70 on  page  2,  by
 3    inserting after line 6 the following:
 4        "(e)  For  purposes  of  this  Section,  the  terms "gift
 5    certificate" and "gift  card"  do  not  include  any  of  the
 6    following:
 7             (1)  prepaid telecommunications and technology cards
 8        (including, but not limited to, prepaid telephone calling
 9        cards,  prepaid  technical  support  cards,  and  prepaid
10        Internet disks) that are distributed to, or purchased by,
11        a consumer; or
12             (2)  prepaid telecommunications and technology cards
13        (including, but not limited to, prepaid telephone calling
14        cards,  prepaid  technical  support  cards,  and  prepaid
15        Internet  disks) that are provided to a consumer pursuant
16        to any award, loyalty, or promotional program without any
17        money or other thing of value begin given in exchange for
18        the card.".
