SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Willie E. Brooks, who passed away on January 23, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Willie Brooks was born and raised in Red Banks, Mississippi; he moved to Springfield in 1970; and

WHEREAS, Willie Brooks served as a teacher, coach, and administrator in District 186 schools for 29 years; and

WHEREAS, Willie Brooks is survived by his wife, Drucilla; his daughters, Lizabeth (Womack) Stokes and Jennifer Brooks; his son, Christopher; his granddaughters, Isabella and Mackenzie; his brothers, James Brooks, Jr. and Donald (Yvette) Brooks; his sisters, Fannie Douglas and Mattie Brooks; his brother-in-law, Henry Simmons; and his sisters-in-law, Anne Walls and Betty (Homer) Judon; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Willie E. Brooks; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Willie Brooks as an expression of our sympathy.
