SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jane Kelly Kennedy, who passed away on December 24, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Jane Kennedy grew up in Waukegan; she was the daughter of John and Ellen Kelly; and

WHEREAS, Jane Kennedy and her sisters, Frannie and Gerry, were a singing trio known as The Kelly Sisters; they performed at venues across the United States with the USO during World War II; the sisters were eventually signed to perform in theatres and night clubs; and

WHEREAS, Jane Kennedy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Roland Kennedy; and

WHEREAS, Jane Kennedy is survived by her sisters, Gerry Kelman and Ginger Durkin; her loving children, Roland (Laura) Kennedy, Jr., John (Debra) Kennedy, Steve (Cheryl) Kennedy, and Elizabeth Kennedy-Mouritsen (Roger); her 11 grandchildren; her 11 great-grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Jane Kelly Kennedy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jane Kennedy as an expression of our sympathy.
