SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Allen L. Goode, who passed away on
4September 21, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Allen Goode was born on May 20, 1920 in Batchtown;
6his parents were Leroy and Marjorie (Hefner) Goode; he married
7Marie Rosella (Klaas) Goode on October 24, 1942; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Allen Goode served his country as a member of the
9United States Army during World War II; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Allen Goode worked as a grain and livestock farmer
11for many years; he also served as a deck hand for the Farm
12Supply barge line for 10 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Allen Goode was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic
14Church in Hardin, the Hardin American Legion, and the
15Jerseyville Veterans of Foreign Wars; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Allen Goode was preceded in death by his wife,
17Marie; his parents; and his sister, Mariam Held; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Allen Goode is survived by his sons, Greg
19(Roxanne) Goode and Gary (Susanne) Goode; his daughter, Mary

1Goode; his grandchildren, Neshona Mya (Trab) Sundaram, Brandon
2L. Duncan, and Brett, Caleb, Michael, and Jessica Goode; his
3great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Jack, Charlie, Caroline, and
4Alanya; and his sister-in-law, Donna Richter; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Allen L. Goode; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Allen Goode as an expression of our
11sympathy.
