SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Allen L. Goode, who passed away on September 21, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Allen Goode was born on May 20, 1920 in Batchtown; his parents were Leroy and Marjorie (Hefner) Goode; he married Marie Rosella (Klaas) Goode on October 24, 1942; and

WHEREAS, Allen Goode served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Allen Goode worked as a grain and livestock farmer for many years; he also served as a deck hand for the Farm Supply barge line for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Allen Goode was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Hardin, the Hardin American Legion, and the Jerseyville Veterans of Foreign Wars; and

WHEREAS, Allen Goode was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; his parents; and his sister, Mariam Held; and

WHEREAS, Allen Goode is survived by his sons, Greg (Roxanne) Goode and Gary (Susanne) Goode; his daughter, Mary Goode; his grandchildren, Neshona Mya (Trab) Sundaram, Brandon L. Duncan, and Brett, Caleb, Michael, and Jessica Goode; his great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Jack, Charlie, Caroline, and Alanya; and his sister-in-law, Donna Richter; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Allen L. Goode; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Allen Goode as an expression of our sympathy.
