SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carolyn Ann Greene Axt of Peoria, who
4passed away on September 30, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carolyn Axt was born on September 29, 1929 in
6Peoria to Howard and Margaret (nee Turnbull) Greene; she
7graduated from Peoria (Central) High School in 1947 and from
8the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 1951, with a
9degree in Journalism, where she was Alpha Chi Omega; she
10married Don Axt on November 1, 1958; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Carolyn Axt worked for Thompson Advertising and
12CILCO (now Ameren); and
 
13    WHEREAS, Carolyn Axt was a member of the Westminster
14Presbyterian Church, serving as Deacon and Elder; she was
15active in the Methodist Hospital Service League, the As You
16Like It Club, and the Fine Arts Society; she served on the
17board of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, the Kickapoo
18Council of Girl Scouts, the Friendship House, and the
19Westminster Infant Care Center; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Carolyn Axt was preceded in death by her parents;
21her sister, Mary Barbara (Richard) Faville; and her brother,

1John Greene; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Carolyn Axt is survived by her husband, Don; her
3children, Amy (John) Hanson, David Axt, and Carla Axt-Pilon;
4and her grandchildren, Alice Axt-Pilon, Betsy Pilon, and
5Rosemary and Will Hanson; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Carolyn Ann Greene Axt, and extend our sincere condolences to
9her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Carolyn Axt as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
