SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Lou "Peanut" Johnson of Godfrey, who passed away on January 3, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Johnson was born on September 3, 1935, in Alton to Gregory and Margaret (Newman) McClintock; she married Robert J. Johnson on June 25, 1955, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Johnson was co-owner of Johnson's Corner and was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Johnson was a life masters in bridge, enjoyed yard work, loved Christmas, water aerobics, and was a silent volunteer for numerous organizations; she enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her brother, Bill McClintock; her sister-in-law, Kathy McClintock; her brother-in-law, John Kleinschnittger; and her grandson, Gregory Peipert; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Johnson is survived by her daughters, Jeanne (Chris) Peipert, Jacqueline (Mark) Cain, Judy (Chris) Durr, Jane (Jim) Strebel, and Julie (Ethan) Basler; her son, Jimmie (Cathy) Johnson; her grandchildren, Wendie Peipert, Nick (Kendall) Cain, Tony (Katie) Cain, David (Jen) Strebel, Abbie (Dustin) Hodge, Matt Cain, Jason Peipert, Monica (Jeff) Hardin, Savanna, Jett and Posy Durr, Alex Basler, Nash and Noah Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Audrey and Caroline Cain, Evan Dugger, Max and Maddie Strebel, Corbin and Austin Hodge; her sister, Jeanne (Jack) Vollmer; her brother, Jim McClintock; and her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kleinschnittger and Ilse McClintock; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Lou Johnson, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Lou Johnson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
