SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Daniel Edward "Blu" Bluthardt; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt was born on April 16, 1965, in
5Madison, Wisconsin, to Edward Earl Jr. and Diane Rose (Latoria)
6Bluthardt; he was raised in Schiller Park; in 1983, he
7graduated from East Leyden High School, where he played
8football and enjoyed playing in a rock band; he graduated from
9the University of Wisconsin in 1987, where he was a member of
10Phi Gamma Delta; he married Carrie Larsen on May 13, 1995; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt worked for many years in State
12government and had been serving as a lobbyist the last few
13years of his career; he worked for the Illinois Department of
14Natural Resources from 1988 to 1991 and then served as policy
15coordinator and analyst for the Illinois House Republican
16Leaders's Office from 1991 to 1995; from 1999 until December
172003 he worked as director of the Legislative Affairs Section
18and then as assistant to the director for Marketing
19Administration within the Department of Professional
20Regulation; he was the deputy director for the Licensing &
21Testing Division at the Department of Professional Regulation
22from December 2003 to June 2004 and served as the director of
23the Division of Professional Regulation for the Illinois

1Department of Financial and Professional Regulation from July
22004 to March 2010; from 1993 to 1995, he was vice-president
3and co-owner of Stuff for Success Inc. in Franklin Park; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt followed in the footprints of his
5grandfather, former State Representative Edward E. Bluthardt
6Sr. and entered politics; he served as precinct committeeman in
7Leyden Township for many years and was president of the Leyden
8Township Republican Organization for a number of years; he also
9was elected precinct committeeman in Algonquin Township; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt enjoyed boating, fishing,
11following the Chicago Cubs, and having cocktails with friends;
12he liked to take his family on trips to Eagle River, Wisconsin;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt will be remembered by his family
15and friends for his professionalism, his work ethic, his quick
16wit, his humble demeanour, and the infectious smile that never
17seemed to disappear; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt resided in Chatham, Illinois,
19and is survived by his children Rocco and Amanda; his wife,
20Carrie; his cousins, Chris and Todd Itrich; his brother, Brent;
21and many lifelong friends; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Daniel "Blu" Bluthardt, and extend our sincere condolences to
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented the family of Daniel Bluthardt as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
