SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edwin "Bing" Bertrand of Joliet, who passed away on December 17, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Edwin Bertrand was born to Loretta (nee Gleason) and Edwin Bertrand; he was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School; he married Margaret "Greta" Shannon; and

WHEREAS, Edwin Bertrand worked for, and retired from, EJ&E Railway after 35 years; he was a U.S. Army veteran, a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, and a devoted father and grandfather; and

WHEREAS, Edwin Bertrand was preceded in death by his parents, Loretta and Edwin Bertrand; and

WHEREAS, Edwin Bertrand is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Bertrand; his daughter, Lori (Chris) Adler; his son, Ed (Lori) Bertrand; his grandchildren, Meghan (A.J.) Vivaldelli, C.J., Matthew, and Sarah Adler, Jenny Kate, and Anna Bertrand; and his great-grandson, Austin; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edwin Bertrand, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edwin Bertrand as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
