SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Betty M. Gleason of Pekin, who passed away on October 26, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Betty Gleason was born on November 2, 1929 in Peoria; her parents were Herman P. and Dorothy M. (nee Loughardge) Garriott; she married Walter E. Gleason on March 20, 1948 in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Betty Gleason was a homemaker; she enjoyed golfing and was a Chicago Cubs baseball fan; and

WHEREAS, Betty Gleason was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pekin; and

WHEREAS, Betty Gleason was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and her parents; and

WHEREAS, Betty Gleason is survived by 2 sons, Patrick (Mary Jo) Gleason and Keith (Terry) Gleason; 8 grandchildren, Shawn (Niki) Gleason, Ryan (Nicole) Gleason, Matthew (Erica) Gleason, Casey (Mark) Rimkus, Blake Gleason, Shannon Gleason, Nate Thomas, and Jeff (Angie) Nelson; and 12 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Betty M. Gleason; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Betty Gleason as an expression of our sympathy.
