| | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | | 3 | | learn of the death of Nicholas M. Helland of Hebron, who passed | | 4 | | away on September 16, 2014; and
| | 5 | | WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland was born on August 21, 1990 in | | 6 | | Barrington; his parents were Jeff and Penelope (nee Gasiamis) | | 7 | | Helland; and
| | 8 | | WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland graduated from Alden-Hebron High | | 9 | | School in 2008 and was active in football, basketball, and | | 10 | | baseball; and
| | 11 | | WHEREAS, After graduation, Nicholas Helland joined the | | 12 | | United States Marine Corps, spending 4 years in service with a | | 13 | | tour in Afghanistan; and
| | 14 | | WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland worked as a construction worker | | 15 | | in remodeling/building homes; and
| | 16 | | WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland was preceded in death by his | | 17 | | mother and his grandparents; and
| | 18 | | WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland is survived by his father, Jeff; | | 19 | | 3 sisters, Tracy (Greg) Vander Mey, Samantha Helland, and |

| | 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | | 6 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Nicholas M. Helland; | | 7 | | and be it further
