SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael E. McKenzie of Marengo, who passed away on September 11, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Michael McKenzie was born on October 31, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio; his parents were Cloyce "Doc" and Bonnie (nee Wise) McKenzie; he married Gina Moore on May 23, 1987 in Crystal Lake; and

WHEREAS, Michael McKenzie graduated from Delaware Hayes High School; he went on to receive degrees in electrical aviation and electronics and his FCC radio and telephone operator's license; and

WHEREAS, Michael McKenzie was the owner of Mike's Electrical Contracting; he also worked as the pool and spa electrical contractor for Meier's Outdoor World in Fox Lake; and

WHEREAS, Michael McKenzie enjoyed working, spending time with his family, watching the Bears, and having a cold beer after a long day at work; and

WHEREAS, Michael McKenzie was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother and father-in-law; an aunt, Mary Terrell; an uncle, Larry Dale McKenzie; and 2 cousins; and

WHEREAS, Michael McKenzie is survived by his parents; his wife, Gina; 3 sons, Michael, Ryan, and Richard; a brother, David (Julie); 3 grandchildren, Joseph, Avery, and Ayden; a sister-in-law, Kim (Jerry) Marsh; a brother-in-law, David (Samantha) Moore; 2 nephews, Devin and Austin; 2 nieces, Jennifer and Meaghn; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael E. McKenzie; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael McKenzie as an expression of our sympathy.
