SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marilynn Jean Salata, who passed away on
4July 22, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marilynn Salata was born on December 4, 1938 in
6Waukegan; affectionately known as "Pudge", she graduated from
7Waukegan Township High School and attended Northern Illinois
8University; she married Stan Salata and they spent time
9stationed in Oahu, Hawaii and Washington, D.C. before settling
10in Lake Villa in 1986; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Marilynn Salata was a gardener, an avid catalog
12shopper, and a devoted parishioner of Prince of Peace Catholic
13Church; she loved traveling to Marco Island, Florida; Hawaii;
14Napa Valley; Green Lake, Wisconsin; and a family favorite,
15Eagle River, Wisconsin; she was also a member of a special club
16known as "The Bridge Babes" for decades; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marilynn Salata was preceded in death by her
18parents, Arthur Anderson and Annie Anderson Goodbout; her son,
19John; her grandson, Cody; and her cousins, Jim Evoy and Addie
20Lou; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Marilynn Salata is survived by her husband, Stan;

1daughters, Sheri Salata and Jodi Salata; grandsons, Johnny,
2Grayson, and Cole; granddaughter, Katie; sister, Donna
3Burnside; brother and sisters-in-law, Ron and Margie Galiene
4and Bob and Barb Salata; nieces, Chris Burnside Newman and her
5husband, Jim, Cathy Burnside Dervishian and her husband,
6Brandon, Amy Salata Shanahan and her husband, Mike, Julie
7Galiene Hamill and her husband, Mark, Jane Galiene Oviatt and
8her husband, John, and Jill Galiene Kiel and her husband, Dave;
9nephews, Ron Galiene Jr., Bob and Kim Salata, and Dan and
10Hilary Salata; cousins, Shirlee Evoy, Janice and Greg Snelton,
11Debbi and Tom Bosworth, and Kathleen and Bernie Gradovill; and
12many great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and life-long
13friends, including Father Rich Yanos; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Marilynn Jean Salata, and extend our sincere condolences to her
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Marilynn Salata as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
