SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jean L. Davis of Lacon, who passed away
4on July 30, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jean Davis was born on January 2, 1940 to Raymond
6and Cecelia Engelbrecht Stange and raised in Henry; she married
7Earl Davis on July 2, 1960; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jean Davis served as the Marshall County Circuit
9Clerk for 25 years; she later worked as the Managing Director
10of the Marshall County Historical Society; she also served as
11an alderman for the east ward on the Lacon City Council; she
12published the History of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Henry,
13and was a Rotarian, serving as past-President and cultural
14exchange member to Sweden; she was a board member for Boy
15Scouts in Lacon; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jean Davis was a Master Gardner and helped create
17gardens at the Marshall County Courthouse, Henry and Lacon
18Catholic Churches, and the Heading House in Peoria; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jean Davis was preceded in death by her parents
20and her husband; and

1    WHEREAS, Jean Davis is survived by her daughter, Anita
2(Kelly) Thul; son, Errol (Karen) Davis; brother, Raymond
3(Debbie) Stange; sisters, Patricia (Frank) Poskocil, Rita
4(Lewis) Simpkins, Jan (the late Tom) Simpkins, Margi Koors, and
5Sharon Bumgardner; and her grandchildren, Sarah, Karen, Renee,
6Aaron, and Karina; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Jean L. Davis, and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Jean Davis as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
