SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Janice Faye Tyler, who passed away on May 17, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Janice Tyler was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on September 18, 1953 to Earnest Joseph, Sr. and Lena Maye Tyler; she attended Townsend Park Elementary School in Pine Bluff, Carter H. Harrison High School in Chicago, and Malcolm X College; and

WHEREAS, Janice Tyler was employed by the Hillside Manor Hotel as a manager, where she served faithfully for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Janice Tyler was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Joseph Tyler Sr.; sisters, Cynthia Y. Tyler and Alma L. Tyler; grandparents, LC and Beguila Harper; 2 uncles and 2 aunts; one nephew, Earnest J. Tyler III; and 2 brothers-in-law, James Hunter and Robert Walton; and

WHEREAS, Janice Tyler is survived by her son, Terrence (Kisha) Lang; 2 daughters, Tracey F. Land and Stephanie Tyler; 6 grandchildren, Rakita, Tyericka, Telvin, Tyrin, Travion, and Princess Isis; one great-grandchild, Trinity; 6 sisters, Earnestine Tyler Walter, Catherine (Reverend Robert) Faulkner, Levita Hunter, Amelia Tyler, Shirley Tyler, and Evangelist Sharon (Derrick) Jones Sr.; one brother, Earnest J. Tyler Jr.; 19 nephews and nieces; 24 great-nieces and great-nephews; very special friend, Mr. Robert; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Janice Faye Tyler, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Janice Tyler as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
