SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wendel Dschida, Jr. of Richmond, who
4passed away on April 16, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wendel Dschida, Jr. was born in Gakowa, Serbia on
6October 21, 1928 to Wendel and Theresia (nee Stein) Dschida; he
7married Anna Lina in Europe on October 15, 1952; he emigrated
8from Germany to the United States in 1957 and became a U.S.
9citizen in 1963; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Wendel Dschida, Jr. worked in Chicago from 1957 to
111968 as a maintenance engineer and electrician; he moved out of
12Chicago and co-founded Astro Craft, a machine shop, in 1968,
13and was the office manager until his retirement in 1989; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Wendel Dschida, Jr. was an active member of the
15McHenry County Beekeepers; he enjoyed working in his vegetable
16garden, deer hunting trips to Wisconsin, caribou hunting in
17Quebec, Canada, and hunting trips to Wyoming and Montana; he
18was a loyal owner of Vizslas (Hungarian hunting dogs), who were
19his constant companions when pheasant hunting; he also enjoyed
20fishing vacations with his grandchildren in Canada; his
21extensive travels took him to Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy,
22and Hawaii and he took cruises to the Caribbean, Panama, and

1Alaska; he spent many winter seasons in sunny Florida; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Wendel Dschida, Jr. was a parishioner of St. John
3the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg and a member of the
4American Aid Society; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wendel Dschida, Jr. was preceded in death by his
6parents, and by his wife, Anna; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Wendel Dschida, Jr. is survived by his children,
8Edward and Otto (Linda) Dschida; 5 grandchildren, Dorothy (Joe
9Agati) Dschida, Theresia Dschida, Elisa (Jon) Doyle, and
10Michael and Robert Dschida; great-granddaughters, Tahlia and
11Evienne Doyle; his brother, Martin (Elisabeth) Dschida; and his
12dear friend, Elisabeth; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Wendel Dschida, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Wendel Dschida, Jr. as an expression
20of our deepest sympathy.
