SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" Wheeler of St. Charles, who passed away on April 22, 2014; and

WHEREAS, James Wheeler was born on May 14, 1945 in Peoria; his parents were James E. and Marion Wheeler; he married his loving wife, Patti, in 1975; and

WHEREAS, Following high school, James Wheeler earned his bachelor's degree in education from Western Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, James Wheeler proudly served his country in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart, among other medals; and

WHEREAS, James Wheeler was the PGA Golf Professional at Pottawatomie Golf Course for over 30 years until his retirement in 2011; he also proudly coordinated the area's Toys for Kids Program in conjunction with the Salvation Army; and

WHEREAS, James Wheeler was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, James Wheeler is survived by his wife, Patti; 2 daughters, Amy Lyn (Mark) Macechko and Kimberly Ann (Matthew) Prall; 5 grandchildren, Abigail, Matthew, Kaylyn, Molly, and William; a sister, Carol (Charles) Zindel; 3 nephews, Kevin, Keith (Sue), and Evan; and 3 nieces, Debbie (Mike), Chelsea, and Mary Sanford; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of James "Jim" Wheeler; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Wheeler as an expression of our sympathy.
