SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William G. Kuenstle of Park Ridge, who
4passed away on March 26, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Kuenstle was born on November 23, 1927; he
6attended Lane High School in Chicago, where he was in ROTC for
74 years; upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy,
8and after his service, he married Dorothy Kupczyk; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Kuenstle worked at International Bakers
10and Confectioners Union until its move to Maryland; he then
11became a U.S. postal carrier, and for the next 37 years, worked
12at the Kedzie & Grace station, receiving multiple letters of
13commendation from the Post Master General due to the
14recommendations from the customers within his community; he was
15was awarded his 50-year pen; and
 
16    WHEREAS, William Kuenstle was active in the annual Memorial
17Day parade in Park Ridge where he carried the American flag for
18many years; he was a member of St. Thecla, St. Eugene, Norwood
19Park Seniors, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 247 PR, and the
20National Association of Letter Carriers Branch II; and
 
21    WHEREAS, William Kuenstle was preceded in death by his

1parents, and by his 11 siblings; and
 
2    WHEREAS, William Kuenstle was the beloved husband of 62
3years of Dorothy; the devoted father of David (Jennifer); the
4proud grandfather of Zachary; and uncle to many nieces and
5nephews, especially Rose; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8William G. Kuenstle, and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of William Kuenstle as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
