SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The member of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alvin James Schuman of North Aurora, who
4passed away on March 4, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman was born in Elgin on May 27, 1927 to
6William and Alvina (nee Lange) Schuman; he served in the United
7States Army as a 612th quartermaster; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman worked for Burgess Norton in Geneva
9for 42 years; he served as a volunteer fireman for the Geneva
10Fire Department for 42 years and for 23 years as a Boy Scout
11troop leader for Troop 53 in Geneva; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman was a long-time member of First
13Baptist Church of Geneva; he enjoyed camping and fishing; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman was preceded in death by his
15parents, and by his brother, Richard; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman is survived by his wife of 65 years,
17Rose (nee Bradley); his sons, Steve (Karen), Dennis, and Tom
18(Dee); his grandchildren, Matt (Kristie), Eleanor, and Marion
19Schuman; his great-grandchildren, Hunter Funk and Riley,
20Matthew, Taylor, and Cody Schuman; and his nieces and nephews;

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Alvin James Schuman, and extend our sincere condolences to his
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Alvin Schuman as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
