SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth Paul "Ken" Rittenhouse Sr. of Bloomington, who passed away on January 12, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse was born in Streator to Glenn and Harriet Murphy Rittenhouse on June 21, 1947; he married Carolyn McClure in Urbana on September 16, 1972; and

WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse worked for Illini Aviation in Urbana until 1973 when he purchased Clark Aviation in Bloomington (Image Air); he had over 25,000 flight hours and held certificates for flight/ground instructor, commercial (sea and helicopter), and airline transport pilot; he was owner of AmbuAir, ExecAir, Mid America Aviation Sales, and Image Air Petroleum; he was also responsible for flights for organ recovery for many years and was a flight instructor and mentor to many pilots over the years; he also held a master merchant mariner license; and

WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse was a member of Centennial Christian Church in Bloomington; he loved boating and playing golf; and

WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ann Buchta; and

WHEREAS, Ken Rittenhouse is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Kenneth Paul (Kellie) Rittenhouse Jr., Kevin Neal Rittenhouse, and Heather Causer (Allan Kolak); and his grandchildren, Daniel Rittenhouse, Brandon Causer, and Emma DeVoe; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kenneth Paul "Ken" Rittenhouse Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ken Rittenhouse as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
