SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Curtis Roberts of Rock Island, who passed away on February 23, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Curtis Roberts was born in Homer, Louisiana to Roy and Mary Ola Howard Roberts Sr. on November 24, 1934; he served in the United States Army; he married Earnestine Smith in Rock Island on June 12, 1976; and

WHEREAS, Curtis Roberts was a Teamster with Local 371, Rock Island, for many years; he retired from McCarthy Improvement; and

WHEREAS, Curtis Roberts was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Earnestine; two of his grandsons; and his brothers, Roy Jr., Willie Sr. and Colunious; and

WHEREAS, Curtis Roberts is survived by his children, Sheila Roberts, Gwen (Willie) Randle, Diana (Dr. David) Gadsden, Pamela Hearn, Evelyn Roberts, and Rosalind Miles; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers, Leonard (Mattie) Roberts, and Joe Lee (Zelma) Roberts; his sisters-in-law, Rose Jones, Eria Jean Roberts, and Betty Roberts; and his many cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Curtis Roberts and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Curtis Roberts as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
