SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carol H. (Kendzior) Henkel of Arizona, formerly of Waukegan and Libertyville, who passed away on April 2, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Carol Henkel graduated from Holy Rosary Elementary School and North Chicago High School in its first year; she married Ronald Henkel; and

WHEREAS, Carol Henkel owned and operated her own beauty shop for years; she then worked for Prudential Insurance and the IMC Corporation; and

WHEREAS, Carol Henkel enjoyed gardening, barbershop singing, and sharing her artistic talents with her family and those with whom she worked; she volunteered many hours at the Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown in Libertyville; she tended all the family graves at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville; in Arizona, she was a longtime member of All Saints Church in Mesa; and

WHEREAS, Carol Henkel was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Kendzior Sr. and Helen Kendzior; and

WHEREAS, Carol Henkel is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ronald; her son, Stephen; her siblings, Janet Uttech, Betty Prusaitis, Rocky (Sue) Kendzior, Kathy Kendzior, and David Kendzior; and the many who called her aunt or great-aunt; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Carol H. (Kendzior) Henkel and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carol Henkel as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
