SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Peter M. "Mick" Scherbroeck of Moline, who passed away on July 10, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Mick Scherbroeck was born in Moline to Peter and Madeline (Strobbe) Scherbroeck on February 16, 1947; as a U. S. Navy Seabee, he served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War; he married Karen Reed in Davenport, Iowa in 1976, and she preceded him in death in 1998; he then married Renee DeBel in Cambridge on September 25, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Mick Scherbroeck worked at John Deere Davenport Works, retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Mick Scherbroeck was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen; and

WHEREAS, Mick Scherbroeck is survived by his wife, Renee; his children, Shawn and Christine Scherbroeck; his stepsons, Mark (Tracy), Eric, and Stephen Ogden; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Jeanette Boyd; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Peter M. "Mick" Scherbroeck and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mick Scherbroeck as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
