SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Byron Eugene Sackett, who passed away on
4April 6, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Byron Sackett was born to Jonathan Henry and Jane
6Bell (Powers) Sackett in Meredosia on January 2, 1926; he
7married Darlene Taylor in Alton on March 31, 1951; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Byron Sackett worked as a industrial research
9chemist in Chicago; after moving back to the Alton area, he
10attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he
11earned a master's degree in Education Administration and Media;
12he then began working for Alton Public Schools as their audio
13visual/media specialist and introduced the teachers of the
14Alton School District to video recording and computers; he
15retired in 1991; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Byron Sackett was preceded in death by his
17parents; his brother, Glen Sackett; his sisters, Josephine
18Pennock and Mary Carr; and his nephews, Scott Rhodes and Ryan
19Aud; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Byron Sackett is survived by his daughter, Deborah
21Lynn Sackett; his son, Richard Sackett; his grandchildren,

1Jamie and Kieran Moylan; his sisters-in-law, Betty Taylor,
2Eilene Taylor and Violet Sackett; and his numerous nieces and
3nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Byron Eugene Sackett and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Byron Sackett as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
