SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Earl Bryant Anderson of Bloomington, who
4passed away on April 12, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Anderson was born in Bloomington to Benjamin
6Franklyn and Jessie Pearl Bryant Anderson on April 1, 1934; he
7graduated from Decatur High School and attended Millikin
8University in Decatur; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from
91956 to 1962; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After his military service, Earl Anderson worked
11at Slavens Collection Agency in Bloomington; he eventually
12acquired the agency and renamed it the Anderson Financial
13Network Inc., AFNI today, and served as president from 1975 to
141995; he was an owner of Prairie Signs Inc.; he was a partner
15in an insurance firm (Insurance Producer) and 462 Partners in
16Decatur; he was the founder and owner of the Credit Bureau of
17Woodford County, McLean County License & Title, the Property
18Owners and Managers Association (POMA), The American
19Distributing Company, the Crossroads Auction Company, the
20Anderson Advantage Holding Company, and the Anderson Triad
21Company; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Earl Anderson served as president of the Illinois

1Collectors Association and on the boards of a number of
2organizations, including the Illinois Sign Association, the
3Credit Bureau of Bloomington, the Bloomington-Normal Transit
4Authority, the Bloomington Unlimited, and the Minonk Planning
5Commission; he also served as president of the Tri-County
6Mayors' Association while serving as the mayor of Minonk from
71997 to 2001; along the way, he also obtained his private
8pilot's license; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Earl Anderson committed to his faith in 1973; he
10enjoyed sharing his faith with others, offering counsel, and
11listening to friends in need; he also enjoyed telling stories
12and jokes; he was known for making an impression on everyone he
13met; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Earl Anderson was preceded in death by his
15parents; his sister, Jennie Anderson; his son, Curt Anderson;
16and his grandson, Curt Mocilan; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Earl Anderson is survived by his wife of more than
1860 years, Suzanne Draper Anderson; his daughters, Cassandra
19Anderson and Candace (Bob) Furgeson; his granddaughter, Sarah
20(Jeff) Hobbs; his granddaughter-in-law, Erica Mocilan; his
21great-grandchildren, Reagan Hobbs, Owen Hobbs, Rylan Mocilan,
22Abel Mocilan, and Emma Collier; and his beloved nieces and
23nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Earl Bryant Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Earl Anderson as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
