SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James A. "Jim" Silversmet Sr. of Moline, who passed away on February 12, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Jim Silversmet Sr. was born in Moline to Albert and Marilynne (Remery) Silversmet on December 15, 1951; he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War; he married Judy Duyvejonck in Moline on March 26, 1977; and

WHEREAS, Jim Silversmet Sr. worked at John Deere Davenport Works for 25 years; he retired in 2014; and

WHEREAS, Jim Silversmet Sr. was a member of the VFW Velie Post and the Friend Circle Club, both located in Moline; he enjoyed bowling, camping, and NASCAR; most of all, he loved his time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Jim Silversmet Sr. is survived by his children, Jamie (Rhonda) Silversmet and Beth Ann (Mark) Cummings; his grandchildren, Alissa, Anna, Kirsten, Kaitlin, Ronnie, Alyssa, and Olivia; his great-grandchildren, Kaden, Alexander, Julian, and Jaxson; his sisters, Sharon (Craig) Schultz and Deb Polchow; and his brother, Ricky (Mona) Silversmet; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James A. "Jim" Silversmet Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Silversmet Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
