1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate brothers Bilal Jr.,
4 Sincere, and Nasir Bailey for each winning 2A State
5 championships in high school wrestling; and

6     WHEREAS, All three Bailey brothers, sons of Bilal Sr. and
7 LaKizzy Bailey, are coached by Tim Springs on the Thornton
8 Fractional North High School wrestling team; Bilal Jr. is a
9 senior weighing in at 160 pounds, Sincere is a junior weighing
10 in at 145 pounds, and Nasir is a freshman weighing in at 120
11 pounds; and

12     WHEREAS, The Bailey brothers have all been wrestling since
13 they were little, following in the footsteps of their
14 grandfather who was a state champion wrestler in the 1970s; and

15     WHEREAS, This is the second state championship for Bilal
16 Jr. and the first state championships for Sincere and Nasir;
17 there are now seven state championships in the family; and

18     WHEREAS, This is the first time in our State's history that
19 three brothers have won individual state titles in the same
20 year; and

1     WHEREAS, All three brothers want to continue wrestling in
2 college and hope to someday compete in the Olympics; therefore,
3 be it

4     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5 HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6 we congratulate Bilal Jr., Sincere, and Nasir Bailey for each
7 winning 2A State championships in high school wrestling, and we
8 wish them many more successful years; and be it further

9     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
10 presented to the Bailey brothers and their coach as a symbol of
11 our respect and esteem.
