SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Allison "Al" Perring Jr. of Clinton, who
4passed away on September 27, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Al Perring was born in Midland City to Allison Sr.
6and Margaret Cox Perring on August 19, 1931; he married Jean
7Gehlbach in Waynesville on December 29, 1950; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Al Perring served in the United States Army and
9was a veteran of the Korean War; after his military service, he
10returned to Central Illinois and began a life of farming; he
11received numerous agricultural awards and was a finalist for
12the 1979 Farmer of the Year award; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Al Perring was active as a community volunteer and
14leader, which included positions as the Dewitt County
15Republican Party Chairman, the Deland Weldon School Board
16President, and the Nixon Township supervisor; he was a 4-H
17leader and a Little League coach and official; he was a 33rd
18degree Mason; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Al Perring enjoyed discussing politics, family,
20farming, and Fighting Illini sports; he was a loving husband,
21father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend

1whose legacy lives on through his family and community; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Al Perring was preceded in death by his parents;
3his four brothers; and his sister; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Al Perring is survived by his wife of 66 years,
5Jean; his children, David Perring, Steve (Lee Ann) Perring, and
6Kathy (Ted) Parge; his six grandchildren; his eight
7great-grandchildren and one on the way; and his sister-in-law
8Phyllis Perring; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Allison "Al" Perring Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Al Perring as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
