SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert D. "Bobby" Thrasher Sr. of
4Winthrop Harbor, who passed away on October 6, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bobby Thrasher was born in Campbell, Missouri to
6Clarence and Alpha Roark Thrasher on October 10, 1941; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bobby Thrasher began his employment with American
8Motors; later, he began his own business, Bob's Union 76, in
9Zion; following that, he worked for Frank's Auto Repair and
10ACME Brick Supply; he was a member of Teamsters Local 301; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bobby Thrasher was an accomplished singer and song
12writer, recording many albums with his bands, "Bobby Thrasher
13and the Foxfire", "The Gallery", the "Bosa Novas", and "The
14Rockin Corvettes"; he played in many local establishments and
15was the house band for "Clark's Lounge"; he loved working on
16his cars and was a big Harley Davidson enthusiast; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bobby Thrasher was preceded in death by his
18parents; his sisters, Betty (Charles) Williams, Wanda
19Andersen, and Dora Jean; his nephew, Barry Anderson; his
20granddaughter, Michelle Theresa Thrasher; and his special
21brothers-in-law, Ronald Kuchera, Wayne Andersen, and Junior

1"Lee" Jackson; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Bobby Thrasher is survived by his children,
3Kimberlee Thrasher Woods, Robert D. "Bobby" Jr., Jeffrey
4(Anne), Brian (Julie), and Kristine Thrasher; the mother of his
5children, Joanne Kuchera Thrasher; 13 grandchildren; 13
6great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary "Pauline" (Matt)
7Goroski, Virginia (Larry) Malone, and Lola (Carl) Darracott;
8and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Robert D. "Bobby" Thrasher Sr., and extend our sincere
13condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14him; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Bobby Thrasher as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
