SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry D. Behrens of Hebron, who passed away on September 29, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Larry Behrens was born in Alden Township to William and Edna (Kuecker) Behrens on February 15, 1938; he graduated from Harvard High School in 1956 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War; he married Agnes Ziegler in Neillsville, Wisconsin on August 10, 1964;; and

WHEREAS, Larry Behrens worked as a TIG welder at Tankcraft in Delavan, Wisconsin for 20 years, retiring in 2003; and

WHEREAS, Larry Behrens was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hebron, where he served on the church council; and

WHEREAS, Larry Behrens was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marilyn (Melhorne); and his grandson, David Sternitzky; and

WHEREAS, Larry Behrens is survived by his wife, Agnes; his daughters, Sandra (the late Russell) Smart, Marilyn Smart, Karen Kunkel, Lisa (Joseph) Engelhart, and Laurie (Glenn) Saputa; his sons, Phillip Sternitzky and Michael (Tracey) Behrens; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; his sisters, Faye (Burley) Lenhart and Beverly (the late Charles) Burkhart; and his brother, William (Betty) Behrens; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Larry D. Behrens, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Behrens as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
