SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Larry D. Behrens of Hebron, who passed
4away on September 29, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Behrens was born in Alden Township to
6William and Edna (Kuecker) Behrens on February 15, 1938; he
7graduated from Harvard High School in 1956 and served in the
8United States Army during the Korean War; he married Agnes
9Ziegler in Neillsville, Wisconsin on August 10, 1964;; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Larry Behrens worked as a TIG welder at Tankcraft
11in Delavan, Wisconsin for 20 years, retiring in 2003; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Larry Behrens was a member of St. John's Lutheran
13Church in Hebron, where he served on the church council; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Larry Behrens was preceded in death by his
15parents; his first wife, Marilyn (Melhorne); and his grandson,
16David Sternitzky; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Larry Behrens is survived by his wife, Agnes; his
18daughters, Sandra (the late Russell) Smart, Marilyn Smart,
19Karen Kunkel, Lisa (Joseph) Engelhart, and Laurie (Glenn)
20Saputa; his sons, Phillip Sternitzky and Michael (Tracey)

1Behrens; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a
2great-great-grandson; his sisters, Faye (Burley) Lenhart and
3Beverly (the late Charles) Burkhart; and his brother, William
4(Betty) Behrens; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Larry D. Behrens, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Larry Behrens as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
