SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard "Rick" Wayne Dailey Sr. of
4Georgetown, who passed away on September 30, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rick Dailey was born in Ridge Farm to Nellie
6Cullen Dailey on November 11, 1945; he married Alice Louise
7(Luther) Dailey on November 27, 1963; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rick Dailey was drafted into the US Army in 1968;
9after completing basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, he
10was stationed at Fort Benning, GA, and Fort Dix, New Jersey,
11before being deployed to Vietnam; he was honorably discharged
12from Fort Lewis, Washington as a specialist; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Rick Dailey worked for the Union Pacific Railroad
14for over 30 years; he was also the owner of North Forty Supply,
15where he sold hunting supplies, including handcrafted hunting
16lights; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rick Dailey was the Senior Ride Captain for Region
18Four of the Illinois Patriot Guard organization and
19participated in countless missions to pay respect to his fellow
20soldiers and veterans; he also served as the Post Commander, as
21well as All State Commander, for the VFW Post 3510 and was a

1member of the American Legion Post 210; he was a lifetime
2member of the National Rifle Association; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Rick Dailey’s prized possession was his family; he
4was his grandchildren’s biggest fan, and was always front and
5center at their sporting events, with a bag of popcorn and
6water bottle in hand; he was known as "Grandpa Grandpa" or
7"Papa Dude" to his great-grandchildren; he instilled his strong
8values into his family, and it is without question that his
9legacy will live on through them; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Rick Dailey was preceded in death by his
11great-granddaughter, Addison RaeAnn Dailey; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rick Daily is survived by his wife, Alice; his
13children, Richard Wayne (Janet) Dailey Jr., Frank Edward
14(Angela) Dailey, and Kelly Ann (Tony) Conrad; his
15grandchildren, Jennifer Robin (Kyle) Smith, Richard Wayne
16(Leather) Dailey III, Kristin Marie (Heidi) Dailey, United
17States Army National Guard Private 1st Class James Wesley
18Dailey, LeeAnn Rae Conrad, Colton Ross Dailey, Waylon Lee
19Conrad, Sarah Ann Dailey, Steven Ray Dailey, Layni Elexas
20Razmus, AM2 (AW) Darcey Alyc Razmus (currently deployed with
21the United States Navy), Haylee Alexsandra Razmus, and Victoria
22Elizabeth Razmus; his great-grandchildren, Ashtyn AnnMarie
23Dailey, Jaxon Daniel Maddox Dailey, Lennox Cole Smith, Lane

2(Francis) Dailey; and his sister, Barb Nichols Hull; therefore,

4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Richard "Rick" Wayne Dailey Sr., and extend our sincere
7condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
8him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Rick Dailey as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
