SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward "Ed" Young, formerly of Lake Zurich, who passed away on September 23, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Edward Young grew up in Chicago; he was an Eagle Scout, and at the age of 17, joined the United States Marines, serving during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Edward Young served as a Scoutmaster and on the local zoning board of appeals; he was a 52-year lifetime member of the Lions Club and a member and deacon at St. Peter United Church of Christ; and

WHEREAS, Edward Young was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Young, and his brother, Freeman (Eleanor) Young; and

WHEREAS, Edward Young is survived by his children, Melanie (Rick) Collard and Julie (Paul) Vormittag; his grandchildren, Josh (Jessi Lee) Vormittag and Jessica Dawn Vormittag; his great-grandchildren, Jasmin and Brianna Vormittag; his siblings, Gene (Audrey) Young, Al (Linda) Young, and Delores (Rudy) Wrublick; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edward "Ed" Young, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Young as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
