SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Albert "Al" Savegnago of Wheaton, who passed away on October 1, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Albert Savegnago was born in Geneva, Illinois to Santo Savegnago and Concetta "Jennie" Difazzio on May 12, 1928; he was raised in Wheaton and fondly remembered when horses and buggies could be seen on the dirt streets of downtown; he attended both Lowell Elementary School and St. Michael's; he graduated from Wheaton Community High School in 1946 and then joined the National Guard and served for seven years; he married Carol Schafer in a double wedding with her sister, Shirley, at Immaculate Conception in Elmhurst on October 21, 1950; and

WHEREAS, Albert Savegnago started his own business, which, over the years, evolved into an industrial screen printing company; and

WHEREAS, Albert Savegnago had a giving heart, especially for charities, educational institutions, and other community organizations; he loved to support non-profit organizations; if anyone asked him for help, he always said yes; and

WHEREAS, Albert Savegnago is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Kurt (Sally) Savegnago, David Savegnago, and Lisa (Randy Johnson) Savegnago; his grandchildren, Sarah (Phillip Shao) Savegnago, Christopher Savegnago, and Sophia Olivia Savegnago-Johnson; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Albert "Al" Savegnago, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Albert Savegnago as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
