SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Philip John Kibler of Moline, who passed away on September 15, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Philip Kibler was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to George T. and Frances J. (Cronbaugh) Kibler on August 25, 1927; he graduated from Marengo (Iowa) High School in 1945 and attended the University of Iowa; he served in the United States Army in Japan from October 1, 1945 to February 26, 1947; and

WHEREAS, Philip Kibler was employed with the United States Postal Service's Railway Mail Service and then at the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Post Office, retiring in 1984; and

WHEREAS, Philip Kibler was a member of East Moline American Legion Post 227, East Moline-Silvis AMVETS Post 145, and the Croatian Club; and

WHEREAS, Philip Kibler was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, George B. Kibler; and his twin sister, Phylis Mary Kibler Shedenhelm; and

WHEREAS, Philip Kibler is survived by his son, Daniel Kibler (Diana Hobson); his grandchildren, Morgan F. Kibler and Austin J. Kibler; his sister, Elizabeth Stanerson; and his longtime special friend and caregiver, Cheryl Aitken; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Philip John Kibler, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Philip Kibler as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
