SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Willis Gordon of Moline, who passed away on September 10, 2017; and

WHEREAS, John Gordon was born in Moline to Willis and Lorraine Pickel Gordon on October 29, 1947; he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, John Gordon retired from Interstate Battery; and

WHEREAS, John Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jolyn Christine Gordon; and

WHEREAS, John Gordon is survived by his children, Jamie Mathis and Jason Gordon; five grandchildren; and his siblings, Linda Mills, Monte Gordon, Elizabeth (Gary) Loy, Patrick (Melissa) Gordon, and Susan Jordan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Willis Gordon, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Gordon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
