SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carol Jean (Dorr) Wildey of Crystal Lake, who passed away September 6, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Carol Wildey was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Walter and Louise (Engdahl) Dorr on November 27, 1943; she graduated from the Abbott Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, where she also began her career; she them moved to Virginia Beach to work at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia; it was there that she met Richard Wildey, and they were married on November 4, 1967; they settled in Crystal Lake where they raised their two daughters; and

WHEREAS, Carol Wildey worked at Sherman Hospital in Elgin; in 1978, she helped to open Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, where her main concentration was pediatrics; she received her bachelor's degree from the College of St. Francis in May of 1995; she retired from Good Shepherd Hospital as the Pediatric Clinical Educator; after her retirement, she cared for patients in the Barrington area who needed long-term infusion therapy; and

WHEREAS, Carol Wildey was involved in many activities, including tennis, golf, gardening, and officiating competitive swimming; she enjoyed baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; she will be remembered for her sharp wit, ability to make people laugh, and her tenacious spirit; and

WHEREAS, Carol Wildey is survived by her husband, Dick; her daughters, Stephanie (Michael) Wozny and Pamela (Flip) Lukens; and her grandchildren, Rhiannon and Makenna Wozny and Joseph and Jackson Lukens; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Carol Jean (Dorr) Wildey, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carol Wildey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
