SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The Members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dominick T. Cap of Joliet, who passed
4away on January 6, 2017 at the age of 64; and
 
5    WHEREAS, After graduating Joliet Catholic Academy in 1970,
6Dominick Cap served in the United States Navy as an AWI with
7squadron VP-60 Cobras; he worked at Caterpillar as a machinist;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dominick Cap was a proud member of the South Side
10Civic Club (SSCC), Moran A.C., Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #300,
11Associated Clubs of Will County, and the Illinois State Rifle
12Association; he was a founding member and past president of
13American Legion Riders Chapter 1080, and a member/former
14Commander (2001), and Chaplin (2003-2010) of the American
15Legion Post #1080; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dominick Cap served as secretary with the Maverick
17Bowling League at Town & Country for 18 years; he was a donor
18for the past 22 years to the Heartland Blood Center; for the
19last six years, he participated in the American Legion Legacy
20Run, the largest multi-state, multi-day, cross-country
21motorcycle event supporting national fundraising providing
22educational assistance to the children of those who died while

1on active service; he was also a member of the Patriot Guard;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dominick Cap was an avid fan of the Chicago White
4Sox and Blackhawks; he also enjoyed golf, especially the SSCC
5annual "Dan O'Leary" golf outing with Wags, George, and Kaz; he
6enjoyed camping, bicycling, and spending time at the range with
7George and Ryan; he loved spending time with family especially
8his grandson Lyric; he will be remembered for his infectious
9smile and hardy laugh; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dominick Cap was preceded in death by his parents,
11John and Rose (Filipowski) Cap; his sister, Jeanette Stanford;
12and his brothers in infancy, Chester, Andrew, and Mark Cap; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dominick Cap is survived by his loving wife,
14Andrea (Sinchak); his children Laurel Cap and Daniel (Amy) Cap;
15his grandson Lyric Cap; his brothers John (Sandy), Al (the late
16Linda), Tony (Nancy), Matt (Maria), and Dave (Christine) Cap;
17numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend Al Gernenz
18along with his wife Annie, and son, John; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
21family and friends, mourn the passing of Dominick T. Cap, and
22extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all

1who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3presented to the family of Dominick Cap as an expression of our
4deepest sympathy.
