SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of June Craig of Indianola, who passed away
4on July 7, 2017, alongside her husband, Harold; and
 
5    WHEREAS, June Craig was born in Georgetown to Rex and
6Lillie Dale Gray Edmonds on June 15, 1922; she married Harold
7Craig at her parents' home in Georgetown on October 15, 1948;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, June Craig taught for over 40 years in the
10Georgetown school system and owned and operated Craig's
11Antiques; and
 
12    WHEREAS, June Craig was a member of the Indianola Methodist
13Church, where she taught Sunday school and had been a youth
14group leader; she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star
15and enjoyed mushroom hunting and square dancing; and
 
16    WHEREAS, June Craig was preceded in death by her brothers,
17Denzel Edmonds, Joe Edmonds, and Otis D. Edmonds, and her
18sisters, Virginia Penn and Susan Widman; and
 
19    WHEREAS, June Craig is survived by her daughters, Janey
20(Kim) Jolley and Gaile (Bob) Sekerka; her grandson, Kevin

1(Kara) Jolley; her great-grandchildren, Kya and Kaelyn Jolley;
2and her sister, Beverly Jane Smith; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5June Craig, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
6friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of June Craig as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
